Makeda Voletta was born and raised in Harlem, NY where she studied dance at the Dance Theater of Harlem and played various sports. In 2003, Makeda graduated from the University of Delaware with a Bachelor of Science degree in Exercise and Sports Science with a minor in Nutrition. She then went on to complete two years of graduate work in the Master of Science program in Applied Physiology in Nutrition at Columbia University. Makeda Voletta is an ACE certified Personal Trainer, NSCA certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, USA Weightlifting Coach, Applied Kinesiologist, Holistic Nutritionist, Professional dancer and freelance journalist. In addition, Makeda is the founder and CEO of Art + Science, LLC, a holistic nutrition and fitness education company.
